EPHY-MESS GmbH strongly represented at the anniversary race

This year’s 25-hour run of the Wiesbaden Sportförderung e.V. (Wispo) took place in WiesbadenKurpark from Saturday, September 13th, to Sunday, September 14th. For the tenth anniversary of this extraordinary event, team EPHY-MESS participated for the third consecutive time. With a record participation of 88 registered groups the ensemble of team captain Oliver Baum succeeded a remarkable 39th place in the category FUN thanks to a very homogeneous team performance.
For the first time all 25 starting positions of team could be filled by staff. Employees from all divisions of the company (from senior management to the production employees) and their running enthusiastic partners and / or children could be won for this outstanding event.  The joint achievement celebrates a complete success on which the whole team can be proud of. This is somewhat surprising as the participation at the weekly training sessions was anything but good this time. Nevertheless the tension grew within the team with every day we approached the event and punctually discharged on Saturday morning at 10.00 clock to at all-EPHY - MESSianists. Round after round we fought, ran and grit our teeth for 25 hours - in between a place in the top 30 was in sight then a place among the top 40 teams seemed to be anything but realistic.  But with a clever tactic in the last hour of the competition the team of record runner Stefan Mohr (37 individual rounds of 925 meters) could secure the desired 39th place - with a total number of 307 rounds we run 9 rounds more than in the first participation two years ago.
In summary – the race was a  top performance taking into account that many employees were absolute beginners or returnees and only due to the WISPO event they had discovered their passion for running (again).
